How YouTube Changed the World

YouTube- the popular video sharing platform that revolutionized the media industry and transformed the way people communicate with others. Over 1.3 billion people watch videos on YouTube, making it a lucrative industry for many individuals who call YouTube their job. For the most part, the site has had a lot of positive impact on society. It sheds light on issues around the world, helps people get discovered, and allows others to express their creativity. Companies nowadays see the great value of YouTube and notice the significant difference in the number of users compared to regular TV. YouTube changed the world in many ways in different perspectives, such as sociological, educational, anthropological, technological, economical, and political. It is no surprise that YouTube has become one of the top five most visited sites on the web to this day.

    I'm one of YouTube's biggest fans. No doubt about it, its one of the most visited sites daily globally. I like that YouTube allows people to share their views and other beliefs publicly. It allows us to learn more about others. On the other hand, this can be looked at in a negative way as it can have an influence on others such as young children. Looking forward to reading more about the effects of YouTube!

  2. Hey Veronica! YouTube is an incredibly powerful tool for both creating communities and socio-political awareness. How do you feel about how YouTube has become less of a marketing/advertising tool as of late with the adpocalypse that has been occurring for the last couple months? I think it's interesting in that content creators are forced to go to different avenues to keep their livelihood in tact, and gives them more autonomy to post what they want to post rather than what an advertiser wants them to post.
